French mantel clock, ebonized wooden lyre form case with pendulum oscillating behind the "strings", ornamented with gilt mounts of waterleaf, horn of plenty and with an overflowing fruit basket at top, petal form bezel with floral ornament, pendulum decorated with cornucopiae, swans, acanthus, and with central floral medallion, 8 days, time and strike, Pendule a Paris movement, Roman numeral, engine turned silvered dial, blued steel Breguet style hands, c1830
CONDITION:
Case repainted/ restored, upper and lower sections misaligned, mounts dirty, but with good gilding, dial with minor tarnish, hands with minor oxidation, ornaments at left ad right side, top of lyre repaired with glue residue, steel components on pendulum with minor rust, ticks and strikes, will require service/ adjustment, crutch repaired, Ht 211/2"
